SAB to present Fork Out Fest

Cajun spices will soon float through the air as students enjoy juicy crawfish and live music.

The NSU Student Activities Board will hold its annual crawfish boil Friday. This year’s theme is Fork Out Fest, modeled after Hangout Music Festival.

“To go along with the theme this year, we will have live student performers, customized fanny packs, henna tattoos, customize leather bracelets and caricatures,” said LeKayla Smith, head of the spring fling committee.

To go along with the crawfish, chicken strips, corn dogs, cotton candy and Kona Ice will be served.

One of the main challenges, Smith said, is deciding on a theme.

“We like to do things that the students will enjoy and will love to come out to,” she said. “Once we solidify a theme, everything pretty much falls into place.”

Smith expects 500 students to show up since it is “one of [SAB’s] biggest events.”

ForkOut Fest will be held April 13 at Iberville Dining Hall at 6 p.m. and is free to NSU students.
