HBO Max’s hit show “Euphoria” is finally back on the air for season two and has taken the world by storm. The audience crashed the website on the night of the premiere, TikTok has been blowing up with show conspiracies and fans have been raving about this season’s new character style.

“Euphoria” has become so well known for its connections with teens and young adults trying to find their way through high school and life, but it also has become very well known for its makeup and fashion.

The show’s costume designer, Heidi Bivens, is the mastermind behind all things fashion on “Euphoria.” Her look for each character is perfectly catered to that character and what they are feeling or going through at that point in their life.

One of the biggest fashion changes you see on the show is Kat’s, played by Barbie Ferreira, in season one. After having a mind-opening experience of self-realization, Kat completely alters her style from the shy, kept-together girl to the overconfident and dominant Kat that she now presents as.

At the beginning of season one, we see Kat mostly conservative clothing like skinny blue jeans and short sleeve button collared shirts, always paired with glasses. But after her reinvention, she is a completely new person. She has dropped the glasses and switched to dark makeup. She removes the jeans and switches to leather mini shirts, sheer shirts and corsets laid over top.

Colors play such a big part in every character’s style. Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney, is often seen in pastel-colored dresses and blues to capture the innocence that other characters think that she has. In contrast, Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, is often seen sporting bright pinks and purples to showcase her sassy and overly sarcastic attitude.

It has also been revealed that the actors who play these characters often sit down with Heidi Bivens herself to discuss what they think their character should wear.

Hunter Schafer, the actress who plays Jules, sat down in an interview with Heidi Bivens and they revealed how they worked together to create the character Jules looks.

“Hunter put together mood boards because he was invested in finding the looks for the character,” Bivens said.
“Euphoria” has created a whole new outlook on fashion and how you can easily express yourself through clothes and makeup. So next time you’re dressing for class, just go for it and live your “Euphoria” fantasy.
