A night full of glamour and surprises can always be expected to happen on the night of the annual Grammy Awards and the 67th year was no exception.
The most outstanding singers and celebrities are expected to attend every year. Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Shakira, Beyonce and Billie Eilish were a few of the artists that attended this year’s event.
Grammy Awards this year were refocused on the wildfires that spread throughout Los Angeles, California, according to CBS News.
“The 67th annual Grammy Awards will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours,” CBS News said in a press release.
Along with donations from the event, artists like “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow dedicated their segments to those who lost their homes in the wildfires.
The night was full of emotion and awards, especially for Beyonce. She was the most nominated artist of 2025 and in Grammy history according to CBS News. She got to take home a Grammy for the Best Country Album with her album “Cowboy Carter.”
Another Grammy winner was Shakira, winning the Best Latin Pop album for “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.” She performed during the night, singing one of her most famous songs “Ojos Asi” and performing her iconic belly dance.
During her acceptance speech Shakira showed her support to the immigrant community, according to USA Today. “I want to dedicate this award to all my immigrant brothers and sisters in this country, you are loved, you are worth it, and I will always fight with you,” she said.
Chappell Roan was also one of the celebrities that used their acceptance speech to bring awareness to issues such as unfair labor practices according to Vogue.
“I told myself that if I ever won a Grammy and got to stand up here before the most powerful people in music, I would demand that labels in the industry profiting millions of dollars off of artists would offer a livable wage and health care, especially to developing artists,” Roan said as she accepted her first Grammy in the Best-New-Artist category.
The “Pink Pony Club” singer shared her experience with unfair labor practices and used herself as an example of the unfair labor practices in the music industry.
Aside from iconic performances to fundraising for a good cause, the head turner of the night was the controversial outfit choices. Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori took away all the spotlight, especially Censori’s outfit choice.
Censori shook everyone as she took off her black fur coat during the red carpet pictures, revealing a transparent mini dress paired with a slick back bun, according to The New York Times.
This wardrobe choice left us wondering if there should be a dress code imposed and if this would be an act of indecent exposure.
Maybe we will find out next year for the next Grammys.
