The Wellness Recreation and Activity Center, also known as the WRAC, is a place on campus to help students improve their lifestyles and promote good health. The facility has much to offer, including a weight room, a yoga room, a basketball court, various group workouts and a highly trained staff of personal trainers and healthcare specialists. Many people visit the WRAC to work out and improve their well-being.
Patric Dubois, the director of wellness and recreation at the WRAC, has been in the field of wellness and recreation for over 30 years and has worked at NSU for 22. “We have had such a great variety of outstanding professional staff, graduate assistants and student employees over the years. These employees have enabled the WRAC to provide a very consistent and high standard of service in our daily operations,” Dubois said.
Sam Jones, a freshman nursing major who frequents the WRAC, has been working out for 10 years and has been using the WRAC since arriving at NSU. Jones wants to work out to be the best version of himself and improve for wrestling. “My favorite part of going to the WRAC is playing basketball with everyone that shows up there,” Jones said.
The WRAC has something to offer for everyone, from an extensive assortment of weights, cardio equipment and workout machines to fun group training activities throughout the week. Whether a student is new to working out or a veteran, the WRAC can provide a quality experience for all students of NSU to enrich their bodies after long days of enriching their minds.
