Northwestern State University’s softball team is hopeful for its upcoming season with its new coach, Jenny Fuller. After their previous season, where they finished with a record of 19-31, they look forward to improving upon their last season and making their mark.
Coach Fuller has been coaching softball for 15 years. She started coaching in college and is coaching her first D1 team this season. “This team is very young and I am very excited for this season. It should be a very fun season with this group,” Fuller said.
Bailie Ragsdale is a senior health and exercise major who plays in the outfield. She’s been playing softball for over 15 years and got into the sport because her cousin played. “This team is young and we are amped up and ready to come together and define our legacy,” Ragsdale said.
Riley Schwisow, a sophomore communication major who plays third base and utility, has been playing softball for 13 years. She previously played at Sioux Falls in South Dakota before transferring to NSU because she was familiar with the coaching staff. “I am pumped. We are a young and excited team who is ready to go out there and show everyone who we are,” Schwisow said.
The members of the softball team are ready for their new season and are working towards improving their gameplay.
