Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity (TKE) was founded to create a community of men regarded for their character. For over 30 years, TKE’s philanthropy has funded research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This philanthropy was an easy pick for the fraternity since, in 1972, TKE alumni Danny Thomas started his fundraiser to support the hospital’s early years.
Jeremy Wade, a junior veterinary technology major, grew up visiting St. Jude and now enjoys being able to give back through TKE’s philanthropy. Wade values the bond of brotherhood and demonstrates a passion for his chosen family. “I want these guys to know that I choose them as part of my family. I want them to be a part of it and I want to be their brothers for life,” Wade said
William Wilson, a freshman business administration major, enjoys going on trips with the fraternity. “My favorite trip so far is when we made a campfire and visited with the alumni,” Wilson said.
Alex Bourgeois, a sophomore microbiology major, joined TKE for the amiable and welcoming community. “Since we’re small, every person can have their own impact in some way,” Bourgeois said.
TKE’s chapter at Northwestern State University has doubled in size since last year and plans to expand its campus outreach. The fraternity is also growing in number and strength as it continues to hold game nights and bonding excursions.
