SGA kicks off the semester with announcements, resolution

At the meeting Monday, the Student Government Association discussed a multitude of events and announcements.

A resolution was put forward by president Jacob A. Ellis in order to formally thank Dr. Chris Maggio, Mr. Steve Kauf, Mrs. Jennifer Kelly, Mr. Drake Owns, the NSU Foundation and all others who put forward the considerable hard work into building Chick-fil-A.

Other announcements were given at the meeting. Students will be capable of purchasing LSU vs NSU baseball tickets at the athletic field house with current ID and sticker on Feb. 8. There is a limited number of sales available.

In honor of Black History Month, SGA aims to contract Kevin Pow as a public speaker despite unclarified issues of communication between he and the committee.

The NSU Leadership programs stands at 271 registries, the most sign ups within the last few years of the event. It will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

Lady of the Bracelet will be holding “Stomping the Mental Stigma” on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in the Student Union ballroom.

10 new senators were appointed in bulk, unopposed.

Taren Turner was nominated as Club Sport Chair; the notion was approved.
