Iberville Dining Hall is one of the most visited spots on Northwestern State University’s campus. Near the University Place Residence Halls and open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Iberville offers students daily meals with the swipe of their campus ID’s declining balance or meal plan. Featuring a wide variety of food, drinks, and desserts, Iberville caters to all appetites.
During the summer of 2025, Iberville underwent major renovations, including new flooring, paint, furniture, and layouts. Iberville is new and improved, ready for students and staff to enjoy their meals in a fresh environment.
New food stations are available to students, including the Sizzle Station, Simple Zone, Spices, Twists and UCook, while also including returning stations Mix, Slices and Inferno. The highlights of the new food stations are Simple Zone—a section dedicated to students with food sensitivities by offering nut-free, dairy-free and gluten-free choices—and UCook—a station in which students can prepare their own meals with provided ingredients.
Torin Merchant, a sophomore communication major, is excited about the changes to Iberville. “The dining hall looks so good! It looks brand new and updated, fitting in with the aesthetic of 2025,” Merchant said. “I like the station that allows you to cook meals for yourself. Also, the one for people with dietary needs is very important.”
Students like Roderia Whitaker, a freshman biology and biomedical science major, have also taken note of the many staff members working at Iberville. “The workers here are really friendly, which I didn’t expect. They are first to smile and are kind when giving us our meals,” Whitaker said.
While Iberville has become a place of improvement, students are still looking for further ways to enhance it. Aja Douglas, a freshman exercise science major, shared her thoughts on Iberville. “I wish the tables were bigger. It’s hard to sit with friends when the tables only seat four. Even with all of that said, I love how you can come and eat during multiple hours of the day,” Douglas said.
Iberville Dining Hall is not only a place to have a meal, but a space to share with friends while creating memories. It also offers a relaxation spot for those who would prefer to dine alone. And now, with a redesigned layout, Iberville can satisfy the needs of NSU students and staff for years to come.
