Color Chaos is one of the most popular events held throughout Demon Days, allowing both students and staff to have fun and get messy after the first day of the fall semester. To prepare for the event, students gathered around Organization Row to get ready and were able to pick up both a Color Chaos t-shirt and sunglasses to wear during the event.

Megan Johnson, a sophomore elementary education major, attended Color Chaos because one of her best friends was experiencing it for the first time. She and her roommates prepared for the event by creating custom matching shirts, even coming up with a group name—the Diamonds.

“Color Chaos is a way to make new friends and see your other demons just all having genuine fun, and it’s a way to be yourself. So what if you get messy? That’s the point. Get a white T-shirt and go get paint splashed all over you,” Johnson said.

Throughout this year’s event, students were able to enjoy many different activities, alongside getting covered in paint. Fraternity and sorority houses hosted an assortment of activities ranging from cookouts to bounce houses, encouraging students to come spend time with them after enjoying the paint-filled festivity.

Zoe Hearron, a freshman psychology and addiction studies major, went to Color Chaos because she wanted to get to know other students while having a fun experience with her friends. “My favorite part was right at the beginning when we all ran in because you could feel the adrenaline and excitement from everybody,” Hearron said. “I honestly did no prep, which I regretted after the fact. I’ll definitely remember to prepare for it next year.”

Color Chaos is one way for students to connect and get to know some new faces while having fun. Using dozens of paint-filled trash cans, students covered themselves and each other in an assortment of colors, ending the first day of classes with a colorful bang.
