Northwestern State University’s 2025 homecoming celebration starts with the annual crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen. NSU students vote for these representatives because of their impact through organizational leadership roles, their Demon attitudes and the hard work and determination they bring to ensure a great college experience for those around them.
The two NSU students granted the opportunity to serve as NSU’s homecoming leaders were Logan Chadwick and Peyton Fuller.
Logan Chadwick, a senior communication major, was shocked upon receiving the news that he had won Homecoming King. “I feel very grateful…surprised even. Knowing that I’ve made enough of an impact on students to gain their support and vote me for Homecoming King is a huge honor,” Chadwick said.
“My advice to underclassmen would be to get involved as soon as you can. Whether that be Greek life, campus organizations or anything else you can find yourself doing. Try to talk to everyone you see, whether that’s just a good morning or ‘Hey, I like that shirt.’ Just a small, positive gesture might make a huge impact on their day,” Chadwick said.
Chadwick expressed his gratitude for the NSU students who thought him worthy of the position. “I just want to thank you all for everything. I never thought I would be here. Homecoming King wasn’t on my radar, nor my bucket list. I was excited just making the ballot for court, so seeing how many people actually support me is really cool. Thank you,” Chadwick said.
Peyton Fuller, a senior biomedical major, attributes the growth she has experienced at NSU to her chance at being Homecoming Queen. “When I found out, I was sitting in my best friend’s car. We just screamed and cried. She was Queen last year, so she will get to crown me!” Fuller said. “Logan, who is King, is a great friend, so I feel so grateful to share this experience with him as well as a court made up of my best friends.”
“Being able to represent a campus that has truly become my family is such an honor. I am so thankful for who I am because of NSU and how I have grown because of the people and memories I have here,” Fuller said. “I am proud to carry on the traditions that make NSU so special. Again, this feels so unreal to me, but thank you, NSU! Thank you for making me feel so loved.”
Both Chadwick and Fuller expressed their deep gratitude to their friends, family and the student body. Their dedication to their peers during their time at NSU has led them to become homecoming royalty, and they strive to use this new honor to leave a lasting impact at NSU.
