In past seasons, NSU Summer Dinner Theatre series brought us “Nunsense,” a musical revue comedy that thrived in Off-Broadway venues for decades. This summer, NSU Theatre & Dance presents the much-anticipated sequel, “Nunsense II.”

The show is directed by Pia Wyatt, associate professor in the Theatre & Dance department, and Bethany Lee, junior theatre major, is the production’s stage manager.

“It feels liberating to stage manage. It’s extremely stressful, but there’s something about working hard at what you love and seeing that finished product come to life,” Lee said.”My favorite part is when the show goes up and you get to bring joy to an audience.”

“Nunsense II” follows the lives of the five “Sisters of Hoboken,” whose combined strong personalities get them into trouble. The show is audience-inclusive and family friendly, and for audience members who have not seen the first play, a recap will take place at the beginning of the show.

Cassidy Giddens, who just completed her freshman year in the theatre department, is playing the role of Sister Robert Anne in her first summer production at NSU.

“It’s a really funny show, and I can’t wait to see the audience’s reactions to it,” Giddens said.

Dates for “Nunsense II” are June 14-17 and June 21-24, and dinner is included with each $30 ticket, available for purchase at 318-357-4218.
